MacOS Tool 2.15 Malware & Driver Walkthrough

Prior to starting the instructions below, please ensure that you are the administrator of the Mac you are intending to install the tool on.

 

  1. Open the drive location that the .zip files are stored in and open the folder.

2. Select and open the .pkg file.

NOTE: If at this point you see a pop up stating it is malware, select "Done" and go into your Mac's settings. From here go into the device Privacy & Security page and select "Open Anyway"




3. Once selected, the install wizard will open in a separate window as shown below:

4. Follow the prompts until you are met with this screen and select “Install”

5. Once you select “Install”, you will be met by a screen asking for authorization to install the files. Enter in your credentials as they apply to you.

6. Once you have authorized the files to install, another screen will open requesting you to install the CP210x VCP driver as shown below:

7.            After selecting continue you will be brought to the following screen asking for you to agree to install the drivers. Select agree and follow on to step 8.

8. After agreeing to install the drivers, you will once again be asked to authorize the installation of the files. Enter your credentials as they apply to you.

9.       After entering your credentials, you will see this window pop up. Select “Open            System Settings” to move on to the next step.

10.         After completing step 9, you will see the following pop ups, and of these pop ups you will need to wait for the one that says “Driver Extensions” to come         up (see image 3). Toggle the slider to allow the driver extensions.

11. After approving the driver extensions, you will have to enter your credentials again to allow this process to go through. This will be the last time you will need to enter your credentials.

12. Once you enter your information, you can select “Done” which will close the pop up. Once this is closed you will see that the installation of the CP210x drivers have successfully processed (denoted by a large green check mark).

Once you have installed the program, you'll need to allow the USB to connect. You can do so by going into security and privacy and scroll down to "Allow accessories to connect" and select "automatically when unlocked". Directly after this you should be prompted to sign in again as administrator to approve this change.


 13.Now that the files have successfully been installed, press the close button and then go into the applications section in your favorite's menu. Once in the menu you need to scroll down to find the “Uniden R Series Tool” file as shown below:

14. After this you can launch the application as normal. You should be able to plug your device in to your Mac and have it be detected as shown below.
