A. On your UDW20055, ensure the following is set to have motion recording. Make sure there is a picture on the monitor from the camera. Check and see if the record schedule is setup. Ensure the software appears as a yellow house/yellow camera on the desktop with a black background. Make sure you have the software downloaded to your PC and installed.
Q. I am getting a Guardian G755 / G766 / G955 Record File Error.
A. If you experience an issue with your Guardian G755 / G766 / G955 with an error "Record File Error", please update your device with the latest firmware.
1. Download the .zip file of the firmware to your computer.
2. Unzip the file to a file folder on your computer.
3. Transfer the 2 files to a clean SD card.
4. Insert the SD card into your devices monitor.
5. Go to settings > firmware update and choose the SD card icon.
6. Let the firmware update proceed.
7. Reboot your devices monitor.
Q. Does the UDW Series have remote viewing capability?
A. The UDW Series devices from Uniden pre-date the remote viewing capability on today's smart devices.
The only remote viewing and recording that can be done is from a PC and a software for it.
When downloading the software, use the following identifications. Be sure to enter this information correctly, or the remote viewing from the PC will not work.

A. Check the software version by clicking the "Buoy" icon or "About" icon in the software. If the software version ends in 289, then the software is only compatible in Windows XP and Vista.
Please update your software by downloading the newest version (302).
Q. Is there a Firmware Update for UDR744?
A. To install the UDR744 updated firmware, perform the following actions:
1. Copy the attached file to a blank SD card. It is important that the firmware file is in the root directory of the SD card.
2. Insert the SD card into your UDR744 monitor.
3. Go to Settings > firmware update
4. Choose "Update from SD Card", and the update process will begin.
Q. What software can I use to view the UDS655 on my PC?
A. Enclosed is the remote download and media player for the UDS655.
Q. How do I reset my password for UDR Series?
A. If you have forgotten your password for your UDR Series video security kit:
• UDR444
• UDR744
• UDR744HD
• UDR777HD
• UDR780HD
1. You will need to reset your monitor so that you can begin with default settings. You can do this by clicking the settings button (3 dots) > General Settings > System Settings > Default Settings.
This will place your monitor back to its factory default password which is 000000.
2. You will need to delete the device from your mobile application by swiping left and clicking DELETE.
3. Once step 1 and step 2 are complete, click "Add Device" on your mobile application to begin the setup process again.
Q. What is the monitor battery life of my Guardian G755/766/955?
A. The battery life is ~ 2.5-3 hours.
Q. What is the minimum upload bandwidth for a Guardian G755/766/955?
A. The minimum upload speed is 2mb/s. This includes all items running on your local network. Other devices can be taking upload bandwidth, also. You may need to make adjustments to this so your cameras can be viewed.
Q. Why is my OCX plug-in path undefined?
A. If you have downloaded the OCX plug-in, but the path is still "Undefined" check the following:
1. OCX is not installed
2. OC did install, but it is not being recognized by Windows. Be sure that you are using Windows 7, XP, or Vista.
3. You must use Internet Explorer as the browser (Not Windows EDGE).
4. Allow the add-on to run in the browser (directly below the toolbars). You should receive a popup in your browser once installed.
Q. What is the maximum distance wireless cameras can send signal?
A. Wireless cameras can typically send signal up to 500' from "direct line of site", meaning there are 0 obstructions between the camera and receiver.
Anything obstructing the signal will affect distance and performance.
• Older buildings can affect distance more than newer buildings
• The amount of 2.4Ghz traffic in the area can affect distance and performance (including WiFi and other cameras)
Q. How so I setup record options on UDW20553?
A. To setup record options on the UDW20553, perform the following:
Note: Only 1-hour increments per camera are allowed.
1. Click on Software icon (house + camera).
2. Click on triangle with the "I" in middle.
3. On the right side, click "Record".
4. Select the time slot in 1-hour increments.
Note: Only 1 camera can record at one time, and you should use the schedule to set each camera to record when it to record.
Q. My UDW Series is only seeing 2 cameras instead of 3.
A. If your UDW Series video security kit is only showing some of your cameras, perform the following steps:
1. Ensure the unit is not connected to a TV or computer.
2. Pair all cameras again.
• Press menu / ok.
• Press 3rd button from arrow.
• Pair camera.
Q. Can my UDW10003 monitor stand be replaced?
A. Unfortunately, there is not a replacement stand for the UDW10003 monitor.
Q. Can a UDW20553 be connected to a television?
A. Yes. Connect your UDW20553 to your flat screen television 32" or larger using the AV output cable.
Q. How do I delete recordings on UDS655?
A. To delete recordings on the UDS655, perform the following actions.
1. Press menu and go to event list.
2. You can delete files from Date or Hour folders, as well as individual recorded files.
3. Select a folder or individual recorded file.
4. Press REC/DEL.
5. DEL : DELETE displays. Press M to confirm the deletion.
6. Schedule and Motion Sensor recordings will function while the system is in playback mode.
Q. How do I install the OCX on unidenvideo.com?
A. If your computer screen is white, and a red X is in the upper left-hand corner at unidenvideo.com, then the OCX is not installed properly, or it is not installed at all.
Reinstall the OCX and ensure the save path does not say "undefined".
Q. How do I register my UDW?

Q. I have 2 separate wireless security systems (UDR Series or UDW Series). Can I view the cameras on two monitors simultaneously?
A. Cameras on each security kit are paired directly to just "one" monitor and cannot be viewed simultaneously on 2 monitors.
Q. What password do I use when setting up the application for my G755/766/955?
A. You should be using the same password in the monitor under Network Information. Do not use the same password that was used for the account setup.
Q. Which app should I use for my Guardian G755/G766/G955?
A. The Guardian 2 application is no longer used. Please use the Uniden AppCam application for remote viewing.
Q. Does the view of my cameras shuffle on a UDW Series security system?
A. UDW Video security systems do not shuffle camera views on the monitor or PC screen. Only one can be viewed at a time.
Q. Can audio be recorded on my G755/766/955 Guardian system?
A. If all four cameras are turned on, only one camera be on recording audio.
